The evening generated $61,500 to support free year‑round programs and neighborhood enhancements throughout the district.
Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo opened the event by welcoming attendees and highlighting the Foundation’s ongoing work to strengthen Playhouse Village through cultural programming and public improvements. Foundation Board Chair Arash Danialifar served as emcee, guiding guests through a lively program that showcased the district’s spirit of collaboration and creativity.
Held at the historic Ice House Comedy Club, the night began with small bites and drinks before guests settled in for a high‑energy headline set from comedy icon Kevin Nealon. Known for his nine seasons on Saturday Night Live and roles in Weeds, Happy Gilmore, and The Wedding Singer, Nealon delivered a sharp, crowd‑pleasing performance that kept the full house roaring.
The festivities also included spirited live and silent auctions featuring exclusive Playhouse Village experiences and contributions from more than 40 local businesses. Among the standout items was a Robbins Brothers diamond pendant and earrings set valued at over $5,000, which helped fuel enthusiastic bidding throughout the night.
Each $100 ticket directly supports the Playhouse Village Foundation’s mission to bring the community together through free public programs such as Summer Jazz, Movies in the Park, wellness events, holiday celebrations, and the beloved Bark in the Park. Funds also contribute to public art installations, tree planting to expand shade canopies, enhanced outdoor dining, streetscape improvements, and playful touches like the district’s popular Spun Chairs.
The evening’s success was bolstered by generous support from title sponsors, including Village Hero Sponsor Lagerlof Cares; Village Gold Sponsors GD Realty, IDB Bank, and Robbins Brothers Fine Jewelers; Village Silver Sponsor Block by Block; and numerous other community partners.
