These arrests involved a grand theft and burglary, multiple package thefts, and trespassing, and were the result of swift action and thorough investigations by local law enforcement.
Electric Bicycle Theft Suspect Arrested
On Friday, December 26, 2025, the SPPD responded to a report of two electric bicycles stolen from an apartment complex in the 200 block of Monterey Road. Security camera footage revealed a lone suspect committing the theft on the evening of December 25, 2025. The footage was shared with local news outlets, and the community was asked to assist in identifying the suspect.
After the video aired, detectives received a tip that led to the identification of the suspect as Joaquin Estrada, 31, of Los Angeles. A search and arrest warrant was issued on Monday afternoon, December 29, 2025.
Before the warrants could be served, however, Estrada and an acquaintance arranged to return the stolen bicycles to the owner that evening. Police were notified of the planned return and located Estrada in a parked vehicle at the designated meeting location. Estrada was arrested without incident, and the bicycles were recovered and returned to their owner.
Estrada was booked into the Pasadena City Jail on charges of grand theft and burglary. He is scheduled to appear in Pasadena Superior Court for arraignment on December 30, 2025.
Suspect Arrested After Package Thefts and Trespassing Incident
On December 29, 2025, at approximately 9:52 p.m., SPPD officers responded to multiple reports of a male suspect committing package thefts, prowling, and trespassing near Floral Park Terrace and Hermosa Street. Officers arrived promptly and coordinated with neighboring police agencies, using air support and ground units to contain and apprehend the suspect as he fled on foot.
The suspect, identified as David Aguilar, 40, an unhoused individual from Los Angeles, was arrested and booked on charges related to theft. Aguilar was also held on a felony probation warrant. During the arrest, officers recovered a stolen package, which was later returned to its rightful owner.
