On the night of April 25, 2025, at approximately 9:53 pm, Pasadena Police officers responded to reports of a shooting near the 100 block of E. Holly Street. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and provided immediate aid. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and survived.
Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery Homicide Unit (RHU) quickly launched an investigation. They discovered that the victim had been lured to Pasadena under false pretenses, where he was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects. The assailants then forced him to visit several ATM locations, making him withdraw money under threat of harm. When the victim attempted to flee, he was shot and seriously injured.
On July 17, 2025, a joint operation involving RHU detectives, the Pasadena Police Street Crimes Unit, and the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force led to the arrest of 25-year-old Marissa Monique Sanchez and 23-year-old Roman Isael Salgado in Mission Viejo, CA. Both suspects are residents of San Juan Capistrano.
The following day, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed one felony count of robbery (PC 211) against Sanchez, with bail set at $100,000. Salgado faces multiple felony charges, including attempted murder (PC 664/187(a)), kidnapping to commit another crime (PC 209(b)(1)), and robbery (PC 211). His bail has been set at $1,080,000.
