This talented combo from Ireland has headlined festivals throughout North America, Europe, Africa, Australia, Mexico, and the Middle East. Its sound blends soaring fiddle and flute with the pulse of button accordion, the drive of guitar, and the fullness of piano. Téada’s latest two albums touched on themes of hope and rebirth in the face of adversity.
After the Eaton Fire, Téada’s founder and fiddler, Oisín Mac Diarmada, said, “Folk music has a unique ability to lift the spirits, while providing an added layer of meaning to many of life’s experiences. As we share our music in Pasadena, the connection with the suffering experienced by people and place will hopefully bring heightened meaning and solace to us all.”
The concert will begin at 8:00 pm at Caltech’s 200-seat Beckman Institute Auditorium, 400 S. Wilson Ave., Pasadena. The event is organized by volunteers of the Pasadena Folk Music Society, which has been presenting fine concerts at affordable prices for four decades.
Tickets are available through Eventbrite, with more information at this website.
