A residential burglary in South Pasadena led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Los Angeles man on Monday, December 22, 2025. The incident occurred around 4:10 pm. in the 400 block of Alta Vista Avenue, when a homeowner returned to find an intruder inside their property.

According to the South Pasadena Police Department, a brief confrontation ensued between the homeowner and the suspect. The suspect then fled the scene on a bicycle before officers arrived.
Responding quickly, officers initiated a search in South Pasadena and surrounding areas, including neighboring jurisdictions, in an effort to track the suspect’s escape route. After an extensive search, the suspect was located in the 5700 block of Huntington Drive North, in the City of Los Angeles, and was detained. A second man was also found at the scene and was detained, though he was later determined not to be connected to the burglary.
Guillermo Ibarra, a 26-year-old from Los Angeles, was arrested and booked on charges of residential burglary. He was later transported to the Inmate Reception Center for housing.
The second man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found to have outstanding warrants from the Alhambra Police Department and was subsequently released into their custody.
