A 28-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday morning, February 12, 2025, in connection with a commercial burglary in South Pasadena.

At approximately 5:15 am, officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a business located in the 1400 block of Huntington Drive.
Upon arrival, officers observed that the front window of the store had been shattered. While conducting a search of the premises, officers located the suspect, later identified as Mercy Garcia of San Dimas, walking inside the building. She was taken into custody without incident.
An investigation revealed that Garcia had gained entry to the business by breaking the front window, removed merchandise, and re-entered the store to steal additional items. Garcia was booked into the Pasadena City Jail on charges of burglary. The case has been forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
The South Pasadena Police Department commended the community member who quickly reported the crime, allowing officers to respond rapidly and apprehend the suspect. The department also praised the professionalism of the officers involved in resolving the situation safely.
