Local Hazard Mitigation Plan
This plan, approved by the City Council during Thursday’s meeting, outlines actions the City can take to reduce or eliminate the loss of life and property from specific hazards in the community. Both natural and man-made hazards are included in the plan.
With this plan in place, the City will be eligible for federal hazard mitigation assistance grants from FEMA. These grants will help mitigate the effects of disasters protecting people, property, and city infrastructure.
After the recent Eaton and Palisades Fires, the city of South Pasadena designed its local hazard mitigation plan to provide an added layer of protection for the city.
Updated Infrastructure
The City Council also approved updates to the water and sewer infrastructure at the Indiana Ave. and Hillside Corridor. These updates specifically focus on improving the water and sewer systems and making the streets more accessible.
The next South Pasadena City Council Meeting will be on March 19, 2025, at 7:00 pm. Watch the full March 5th Council meeting at this link.
