The City of South Pasadena is inviting community members to help shape the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget and participate in the City Council’s strategic planning process.

City officials say public input will help prioritize municipal goals, promote fiscal transparency, and maintain essential services for the community.
Residents are encouraged to complete the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 Community Survey, available online via this link and on the City of South Pasadena’s website homepage at southpasadenaca.gov. The survey can also be accessed through flyers located at all City counters. The deadline to submit responses is Sunday, February 8, 2026, at 11:59 pm.
According to the City, the budget serves as a policy document that outlines fiscal priorities and provides a framework for financial decision-making. It is designed to ensure the continued delivery of core services that enhance residents’ quality of life.
The budget development process includes an analysis of actual and projected fund balances, revenues, and expenditures. Each City department prepares detailed budget requests outlining recommended service levels and activity goals for the upcoming fiscal year. The Finance Department works with departments to project revenues, after which the City Manager reviews departmental requests, aligns proposed activities with City Council policies, and makes necessary adjustments. A Proposed Budget is then compiled and made available to the public on the City’s website before being submitted to the City Council for final approval.
City officials note that additional opportunities for community engagement and participation will be offered throughout the process. Residents with questions about the survey or the budget process may contact the Finance Department at finance@southpasadenaca.gov or by calling (626) 403-7250.
