Feb. 24: Murder Suspect in Custody

On Monday, February 24, 2025, at approximately 12:11 p.m., detectives from the South Pasadena Police Department, in collaboration with the Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force (LA IMPACT), arrested David Silva-Garcia, a 22-year-old Los Angeles resident, on charges of murder.

The arrest, which took place in the 9200 block of Reseda Boulevard in Northridge, Los Angeles, concludes an extensive 18-month, multi-agency investigation into a fatal traffic collision that occurred in August 2023 on Orange Grove Avenue in South Pasadena.

Following a thorough review of the case, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed three felony charges against Silva-Garcia, including:

      • PC 187(a) – Murder
      • VC 23153(a) – Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol Causing Bodily Injury
      • VC 23153(b) – Driving with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08% or Higher Causing Injury

An arrest warrant was issued, leading to Silva-Garcia’s apprehension. He is currently being held at the Pasadena City Jail on $2,000,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment at Pasadena Superior Court on February 25, 2025.

Anyone with additional information about this incident is urged to contact the South Pasadena Police Department Detective Bureau at (626) 403-7280.
