In anticipation of dangerously high temperatures, the City of South Pasadena has opened two designated Cooling Centers to provide relief for residents.

The centers are located at the South Pasadena Senior Center (1102 Oxley Street) and the South Pasadena Public Library (1100 Oxley Street). They will remain in operation as long as outdoor temperatures reach or exceed 96°F.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the air-conditioned spaces during normal business hours. The Cooling Centers offer amenities such as public Wi-Fi, computer access, and free literature. At the Senior Center, adults aged 55 and older can also participate in programs such as yoga and line dancing for a fee.
Service animals are welcome at both locations; however, pets are not permitted.

South Pasadena Senior Center
Monday–Friday: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
South Pasadena Public Library
Monday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Tuesday–Thursday: 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
Friday–Saturday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday: 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
City officials urge residents to stay hydrated and check on neighbors, especially seniors and other vulnerable individuals, during periods of extreme heat.
