Simple Transport (Part 2): by animals, skateboard, sailing, and unicycle
Michele L. Harvey
at the carousel
I choose a white unicorn
you a camel
each one of us shaped
by our own myths
Although Michele L. Harvey lives and paints landscapes in New York, she’d never be without critters, her ’totem’ animals, that thread their way into the heart of her poetry and paintings. She believes every person has at least one “animal” of any species, human or otherwise that “carries them” in life.

Pris Campbell
a goat stares
from its tiny atoll
we drift past
into the waiting arms
of a sea-salted paradise
Pris Campbell lives in The Greater West Palm Beach, Florida. Her tanka captures a “magical moment” during a meandering trip in 1977 with her “then love”, in a 22 foot sailboat, down the east coast from Boston to Florida.

Joyce Futa
to begin
my unicycle mind
rolls back and forth
then I lift
Into the pull of the moon
Joyce Futa lives in Altadena, CA. She attends the Pasadena poets workshops and enjoys the simple transport of reading and writing poetry. She’s never been on a unicycle, but thinks she’d be good at it.
–“On Top of the World” photo is by Susan Dobay, a Hungarian artist who lives in Monrovia, CA. Her paintings, computer art work, including her previous paintings and her philosophic peace oriented images, inspire poets and musicians worldwide.
-“When there’s nothing left…” photo is by S.M. Abeles. He writes in Washington, D.C., and this photo and tanka is typical of his poetry, which frequently focuses on themes of solitude, alienation, rebellion, and a stylized past.
–“Sailboat” photo is by Kathabela Wilson. Kathabela roamed the beaches of Santa Barbara for years, living on the mesa and creating simple scenarios from found objects such as this. She calls them “Figures of Humor and Strange Beauty”
! We welcome and encourage your response especially in the form of short poems. You may reply by leaving a comment below. The Poetry Corner is hosted by Kathabela Wilson.

The Sailboat by Kathabela Wilson,
Serpent is coming from depth to see what is going on, on planet earth?
Is he satisfied what he sees or surprised at what is going on ?
To me the boat symbolizes humans journey toward the unknown.
The Figures of Strange Beauties are full of fantasy.
thank you, Poets/Artists & Kathabela, for the updraft in this selection!
These are wonderful. Thanks for including me. Just a note. My bio is also under Joyce Futa as her bio,
