Open to applicants ages 13 to 21, the program offers opportunities to serve on several key city bodies, including the Planning Commission, Community Services Commission, Natural Resources Commission, Library Board of Trustees, and Senior Community Commission.
Student Commissioners gain firsthand experience in local government, learning about topics such as urban planning, community services, and environmental stewardship. The role provides practical insight into how city decisions are made while helping participants build strong résumés for future college or job applications.
