The movement, which began at the University of Minnesota, has quickly expanded across the country in response to recent incidents involving federal immigration agents in Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and other cities.
Pérez emphasized her support for the demonstrations, stating that she intends to stand with communities calling for an end to aggressive federal actions. “I will be supporting and participating in tomorrow’s National Day of Action,” she said, noting the urgency of the moment.
Despite her participation in the protests, Pérez confirmed that her Senate offices in both Pasadena and Sacramento will remain open throughout the day. Staff members will continue providing assistance to residents seeking help navigating state government, as well as offering Know Your Rights information and community referrals related to immigration issues.
“This is a time when our nation must come together and demand this federal administration ends its violent and illegal terror campaign against both U.S. citizens and immigrants,” Pérez said.
Events tied to the National Day of Action are expected to take place across multiple states, with organizers anticipating strong turnout from students, community groups, and elected officials.
