Save Energy and the Environment With Monterey Park Library Card

Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library cardholders now have access to solar charging panels and iFixit Repair Kits, which will help them save on energy costs and prolong the lives of their digital devices.

Solar charging panels are now included in select Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library Parks Packs. These 30-watt foldable panels allow users to recharge phones or other devices while on the go, as well as save on electricity costs. In addition to solar charging panels, Parks Packs contain all the equipment needed for outdoor adventures including binoculars, hiking poles, bird guides and a compass. Parks Packs containing solar charging panels can be borrowed by adults with a valid library card.

iFixit Repair Kits are available for in-library use by adults. These portable electronics toolkits are designed primarily for computer, smartphone, tablet and gaming repair, and contain all the tools needed for do-it-yourself fixes. By repairing their old devices rather than buying new ones, community members will both save money and promote sustainability.
