Through a schoolwide toy drive benefiting the Union Station Homeless Shelter, students collected an impressive 502 toys and 98 books, with donations valued at more than $19,000.
Guided by Student Council Advisor Stacy Travisano, the initiative encouraged students to engage in meaningful philanthropic activities and to understand the impact of serving their community.
“The success of our Holiday Toy Drive at Carver Elementary speaks to the power of young people coming together for something bigger than themselves,” said Travisano.
Fifth-grade Student Council President Ryan Azar highlighted the collective effort, noting that students across all grade levels contributed to the drive. “We came together and made a difference,” he said.
The Union Station Homeless Shelter expressed deep appreciation for the generous donations, emphasizing that the collaboration demonstrates a true community partnership during the holiday season.
“Our partnership with Union Station in Pasadena allowed our students to turn kindness into real impact. Carver Kids care and lead with empathy; I am so proud of our students,” Travisano added.
The initiative reflects Carver Elementary and the San Marino Unified School District’s commitment to community service and the meaningful contributions students can make, even at a young age.
