Indiana enters the game as the top-ranked team in college football and the Big Ten Conference champion. The appearance marks the Hoosiers’ second trip to the Rose Bowl, known as “The Granddaddy of Them All,” as they look to continue a historic season on college football’s biggest postseason stage.
Alabama arrives in Pasadena after defeating the Oklahoma Sooners in the first round of the College Football Playoff on Friday night, December 19, 2025. The Crimson Tide will face Indiana for the first time, setting up a new postseason matchup with a berth in the College Football Playoff semifinals on the line.
“We are excited to host the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl Game,” said Pasadena Tournament of Roses President Mark Leavens. “We look forward to welcoming Indiana to Pasadena on New Year’s Day and are thrilled to have the top team in college football compete in The Granddaddy of Them All.”
Pre-game festivities on January 1 will begin at 12:00 pm, leading into the nationally televised game on ESPN.
