To raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate and colon cancers, the San Gabriel Police Department is participating in “No-Shave November” as part of the national “ Movember Challenge.”
By Cheryl Cabot
Male officers and staff have the option to grow a beard, mustache or goatee, while female participates can wear a flower or large bow in their hair. Both are intended to start conversations regarding men’s health. Anyone participating is asked for a voluntary donation.
The Department is looking to raise money to donate to someone in the community who currently is or has battled prostate or colon cancer.
Police officers always have a plan whenever we need to solve a problem. Like our police officers, we encourage everyone to have a plan to detect the serious diseases impacting men in their early stages, as well as in leading a healthy and happy lifestyle.
