The Mayor of San Gabriel City, Jason Pu, and Vice Mayor, Denise Menchaca, reached out to the community.

      By News Desk

Mayor Pu to the community of San Gabriel:

With the closure of local schools for two weeks or more, this is a stressful time for all of us.

However, this situation is only temporary and we should stay calm and rational. Panic buying and hoarding only make a difficult situation worse, creates more anxiety and tension and can lead to price-gouging. We should all work together and help each other to get through this together.

      Jason Pu
      Mayor, San Gabriel

Vice Mayor Menchaca reached out to the community with the following:

In response to the Coronavirus threat (COVID-19), there has been a tremendous impact in all areas of life. It’s important to keep informed of the facts and continue to practice everyday preventive actions.

      Emotional health

We should also remind ourselves to take care of the emotional health of our household members, especially those who might be at greater risk, like our elderly loved ones.

This is a time for us to come together as a Community so plan ways to stay in touch with others (phone, text, email, etc). Lastly, continue to shop with our local businesses, who are finding creative delivery approaches without compromising public safety.

      Denise Menchaca
      Vice Mayor, San Gabriel

      1. Please don’t panic.
      2. Practice social distancing. It will help containing the spread of the virus and won’t overwhelm our health workers.
      3. Read this article about 10 Reasons Why You Ought to NOT Panic. (#3 is our favorite: “Science is on it, Globally”).

San Gabriel – the entire main street of Las Tunas Drive (City of San Gabriel to the beginning of the City to the end of the city going towards the Temple City) needs to be paved ASAP it is so bad and getting worse with the rain opening more pot holes. Many of us use this street everyday. From the State of the City Address by Mayor Jason Pu many citizens were talking to each other why is Las Tunas Drive not done yet. From the San Gabriel Valley Medical Center to the San Gabriel County Club places people use daily, Get it done!
