The new concert curator, David Speltz, has lined up eight exciting concerts starting in September with a new group to the Restoration Concerts, Tesserae Baroque Ensemble. The concert series features many talented ensembles and musicians such as Rodolfo Leone, first-prize winner of the 2017 International Beethoven Piano Competition Vienna, the AlmaNova Duo accompanied by a guest percussionist, The Restoration Ensemble led by Tereza Stanislov, and Joshua Ranz and Friends (String Quartet and Clarinet). The esteemed New Hollywood String Quartet, the Restoration Concerts Quartet in Residence, will present concerts in November and March. The internationally acclaimed concert pianist, Robert Thies, an audience favorite since Restoration Concerts began, will close out the season along with a guest collaborator.
Season tickets are $160 for 8 concerts. Purchasing the season saves concertgoers a total of $40 over ticket prices at the door. Concerts take place on Sundays at 4:00 pm in the South Pasadena Library Community Room. For concert details and to purchase tickets, go to this website.
A special event is also being planned at one of the concerts to celebrate the 30 year milestone. The Restoration Concerts Committee is composed entirely of volunteers who work tirelessly to bring world class music at an affordable price to concertgoers in South Pasadena and surrounding communities. As the name suggests, net profits from the concerts provide for restorations, enhancements, and other benefits to the South Pasadena Library and Community Room. Purchases for the library have included new chairs, new carpeting, community room sound system, a digital projector and projector screen, and much more.
