On Friday. December 18, at 10:41pm, the Pasadena Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from the 1127 E. Del Mar Boulevard.

Fire and police units arrived on scene and observed a first floor apartment that was fully engulfed. Pasadena, San Marino, Glendale, South Pasadena and Alhambra Fire assisted in extinguishing the fire. Residents of approximately 16 apartments were displaced as the complex was deemed inhabitable. Residents were offered housing assistance but all were able to find temporary placement.
An arson investigator responded to the scene. The cause of the fire is unknown as the investigation is still ongoing. No residents were injured due to the fire. One Pasadena firefighter sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. More details to follow as available.
