The City of Pasadena issued a public statement Wednesday, June 18, addressing widespread reports of enforcement activity at multiple locations throughout the city. City officials confirmed they are actively investigating social media posts, photos, and videos in an effort to gain a clearer understanding of the events.

      By News Desk

In its statement, the city clarified that neither the City of Pasadena nor the Pasadena Police Department is involved in enforcing federal civil immigration laws. “We do not inquire about a person’s immigration status when responding to service calls or providing City services,” officials emphasized.

The city reiterated that immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility and not within the jurisdiction of state or local governments. “Our role as a local government remains focused on serving our local community,” the statement read.

Pasadena officials also expressed solidarity with those impacted by recent federal immigration actions, stating, “We share in the concern and sadness felt across the region.”
