A YouTube video of Riverside residents and activists Jason Hunter and Vivian Moreno speaking at Pasadena’s January 12, 2015 city council meeting, is making rounds on the internet.
The video, posted on the site TMC: Thirty Miles of Corruption, shows Mr. Hunter talking about the time Michael Beck was the Assistant City Manager in Riverside.
According to Mr. Hunter, Mr. Beck arranged a paid internship in the City of Riverside for his son Colin Beck, whom was “hardly seen in the office.” It was a paid internship that was not made available to any other qualified college kids and offered up especially for Mr Beck’s son.
Ms. Vivian Moreno is also heard on the video talking about Michael Beck being ‘buddy buddy’ with former Riverside Public Works Director Siobhan Foster, who is now the director of Pasadena’s Public Works Department.
The video concludes with Ms. Morenoa saying that the public of Riverside has taken their city back, and that’s what the city of Pasadena needs to do.
Even after Mr. Beck found out about the embezzlement, he proceeded to authorize pay raises for his department heads and himself on the taxpayers dime (Pasadena Star News).
