With a significant decline in COVID rates, the LA County Department of Public Health has updated the Health Officer Order that lifts the outdoor mask mandate while at TK-12 schools.
By News Desk
The Health Order no longer requires masking while outdoors at K-12 Schools, youth sports, or childcare settings. PUSD schools and early childhood education settings will align with the LA County Public Health Order. Effective immediately, wearing masks outdoors is now optional, although it is still recommended. Students will still be required to wear masks upon entering buildings and while in classrooms and other indoor spaces.
Type of masks required indoors at PUSD:
- Employees must wear surgical-grade masks.
- Students are required to wear a surgical mask in addition to or in place of a cloth mask.
Masking is still recommended at crowded outdoor events.

The City of Pasadena is not subject to LA County Public Health Department mandates as the city has its own public health department.
