Altadena residents have two important opportunities to participate in shaping the future of their community, with public meetings on wildfire recovery, infrastructure funding, and long-term housing strategy.

      By News Desk

The meetings, set for Monday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 17, will provide key insights and allow public participation on decisions that will impact everything from roads and utilities to future housing development.

1- Altadena Wildfire Recovery Infrastructure Financing District (AWRIFD) Meeting

On Monday, December 15, Los Angeles County will host a public meeting to discuss the creation and governance of the Altadena Wildfire Recovery Infrastructure Financing District (AWRIFD). This meeting will focus on how recovery funds will be allocated for rebuilding vital infrastructure, including roads, water systems, sewer, utilities, parks, and County facilities in Altadena. The decisions made here will guide long-term recovery priorities for the area, ensuring that the community’s infrastructure is rebuilt in a way that meets both current and future needs.

This marks the first time the County is publicly framing bungalow courts as a key component of rebuilding efforts, addressing both the need for affordable housing and the preservation of neighborhood character. The meeting will also touch on fire recovery and community-driven planning, making it an essential event for those interested in shaping the future of Altadena.
