Rainbow Footsteps
the largest pride flag
snakes across
earth’s longest footbridge
in celebration of what little space
we have left
Ο
disco ball
beneath the stars
dancing the national anthem
“I will survive”
(at least for today)
Ο
we whisper to each other
such low turnout–
hard rain’s already falling
all the lonely people
stayed home
Ο
ten year old transkids
run happily beneath the flag
moms say “you go girls”
gym class nightmares
disappear into the wind
