Mrym Phrym
among the first signs of spring
green cart of two men
selling hearts
carved on wood
Maryam Pourrahimi calls herself Mrym Phrym. Even her name, matching her springlike personality, sounds like a little song. She says “I live in Iran-Mashhad. we went to the spring ceremony yesterday in the garden of one of the most famous bardic poets of Iran (Ferdowsi) and there at the entrance gate I saw these two men selling hearts carved on wood.”

may there be peace
Giselle Maya lives in Provence and loves writing poems and prose in the Japanese genre. She writes daily in her journals: a garden journal with notes about spring surprises in the garden and what to plant and when, a tanka journal, a pillow book and bits of paper to jot down ideas. She writes daily about SHASEI (Shiki), the art of noting the miraculous in our daily lives and writing it down in tanka, haiku, haibun and tanka prose form. Giselle also loves collecting her poems in books. She has 23 so far (a list available by request).

Michael Rehling is a quiet vegan haiku poet living in the North Woods of Michigan. He says: “Spring for me, north of the 45th parallel, comes in late May or the first week of June. Our experience with spring changes from year to year. And, as of yet, no global warming has reached us.”
