Carole MacRury
Carole MacRury, of Point Roberts, Washington, says “The dance of the sea star reminds me that life is brief, like our footprints and the slow tracks of the sea star as it moves towards shelter, towards the sea, or the shade of a sea stone, or to simply move while they can to escape the disease threatening their species, all will be erased by the incoming tide.”

Robert Franson
Robert Franson says of his moving photo “I took this photo in Red Cliffe, Newfoundland & Labrador, on June 21, 2012. I live in Santa Cruz, California. For me, the scene was evocative of the tragedy that struck hundreds of small communities along the Newfoundland shore when the cod fishery collapsed in the 1960s and 70s. Canada finally closed the fishery on July 1, 1992, putting 40,000 people who had to move, out of work.”

Love this quiet corner of poetry, stand back and observe the photos and sip the words slowly,
A beautiful site of literature. I wish to contribute some of my haiku, haiga. I wish the journal a bright poetic journey.
