Robert Johnston
at the end of summer
I spotted a rogue eel
in the little pond
and for some days worried
about the goldfishwould the eel
as they slept at night
sneak up
and eat them?
did they sleep?now
however
as autumn advances
the fish it seems
continue below the surfaceas before
in cold fire
slipping through
their world
or floating motionless
Robert Johnston lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. He’s friends with Kathabela Wilson and sundry other poets, photographers, scholars and artists. Following the maxim that one is known by one’s friends, he assumes he is rather like them. He wonders if they are running late, too.

Louis Osofsky
it’s only away
from the fishing net
tug
that I feel
this sacred horizon of the ripple
Louis Osofsky lives in Sacramento, CA. When asked what he does, he quotes Anaïs Nin: “Each of our friends is a world within us”, “and what if happiness were a creative activity, like writing a poem?”

Sarbjit Singh
ant colony …
between sky and earth
only nothingness
while we gasp
we become one

Love the poems & Robert Johnsons photos. Here’s part of my poem, Summer Green:
Even weeds have overgrown
to tint my world a monotone.
Hi Kathabella, sending you a hug.
thanks for this lovely tribute to our earth!
