The Playhouse Village Foundation has announced that its eagerly awaited event, A Night Out in Playhouse Village, will take place on April 30, 2025, at the Ice House Comedy Club.

The event will jump-start the Foundation’s annual fund drive, with proceeds supporting enhancements to Playhouse Village Park and public spaces within the 34-square block area in the heart of Pasadena.
This announcement comes after the Foundation postponed the original February 12 event out of respect for the survivors of the Eaton Fire and to allow time for ongoing cleanup and evacuation efforts in the area. The new date promises to bring the community together for a joyous celebration.
The event will feature headliner Margaret Cho, a famed comedian, podcast host, musician, and TV and film star, alongside Ice House impresario and Lakers co-owner Johnny Buss. Guests can expect a delightful evening filled with local food and drinks, as well as curated silent and live auctions. Laughter will be in abundance as the community gathers to support Playhouse Village’s growth.
The funds raised through the live and silent auctions will go toward expanding free public programming, supporting public art initiatives, and improving pedestrian and streetscape features in the Village. These improvements will enhance the area’s beloved mix of walkable residential and retail streets, historic theaters, cinemas, and cherished businesses like Vroman’s.
Phil Hawkey, Foundation Chair, encourages those who enjoy Playhouse Village to make a difference by purchasing a ticket, donating, and bidding on auction items generously provided by local and regional supporters. “We have game-changing improvements and activities queued up for the next few years, and you can bring them to reality. Join our community of Playhouse Village supporters!” said Hawkey.
The Playhouse Village Foundation’s innovative approach to community-building has set a standard nationwide. In 2001, property owners in the heart of Downtown Pasadena voted to form the Playhouse Village district to enhance public services beyond those provided by the city. The Foundation continues to build on that success, attracting additional funding and grants to accelerate progress and tackle the community’s evolving needs.
Capacity for A Night Out in Playhouse Village is limited, so those interested are encouraged to purchase tickets soon. For more information and ticket sales, visit this link.
