Many of us grew up with a hooptie, a jalopy, or a clunker that was typically accompanied by the pungent odor of gasoline and sometimes even a cloud of smoke.

My childhood memories consist of car parts strewn all over the back yard, weekly trips with my dad to Pep Boys, and on occasion the entire family pushing the old rust bucket home. Growing up with a lemon, I learned it was okay to get my hands dirty, how to use public transportation, and the importance of spending quality time with my family. For these reasons and countless others, classic cars have become one of America’s favorite pastimes.
At Car Shows, multiple generations gawk at the bombs from the past transformed into bombshells of the present. These fine works of art come fully equipped with shiny custom muscle engines, chrome alloy wheels, and modern classic interiors. These horseless carriages look like they just rolled off the assembly line, but that old car smell is unmistakable.
There is no better place to get close to these classic cuties than Pasadena, California! Set against Pasadena’s most iconic backdrop, City Hall, – the Pasadena Police Department will host its 21st Annual Car Show on Father’s Day weekend, Saturday, June 17, 2023, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy dozens of pre-war and postwar era vehicles. Proceeds from the event will benefit youth programs, including the Pasadena Police Activities League P.A.L. and the Pasadena Police Explorer Post #19.
