Pasadena Water and Power (“PWP”) is replacing a 90-year-old water main that stretches along Grand Avenue beginning January 6, 2025.
By News Desk
The 6-to-4-inch line will be replaced by a 12-to-8-inch ductile iron mainline pipe, which will reinforce PWP’s water service reliability in the area. The project is currently projected to be completed by the end of August 2025.
To minimize the project’s impact on residents and businesses in the area, PWP will implement several special measures. Construction efforts will be contained to approximately one block at a time, starting near the intersection of Green Street to the north and proceeding south on Grand Avenue until reaching California Boulevard. Water service will be intermittently interrupted and will be noticed 48 hours in advance. Temporary traffic control and detour signs will be posted at all times during construction. Work will occur Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, unless specifically notified.
