As the Eaton Fire raged in parts of Pasadena, it caused damage to several City reservoirs and pump stations.

The fire ended up, impacting water quality within the areas of Pasadena identified in this map.
Water and Power staff started have the process of testing the water quality in the impacted areas. Though the City of Pasadena maintains and operates its own water quality testing lab, they are working closely with the State Water Resources Control Board to ensure proper adherence to all safety protocols and regulations.
The City expects to release information regarding testing results on the afternoon of Monday, January 13.
Reminder
In the impacted areas, do not drink tap water. Bottled water should be used for all drinking (including baby formula and juice), brushing teeth, washing dishes, making ice, and in food preparation until further notice. This also applies to pets and domestic animals. Additionally, do not try to treat the water yourself. Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting water stand, will not make the water safe to drink.
