The City of Pasadena is calling on residents and community partners to review and provide feedback on the draft of the updated 2025 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP), a key document that outlines the city’s long-term strategy to reduce the risks posed by both natural and human-caused disasters.
By News Desk
The LHMP identifies hazards such as earthquakes, wildfires, and flooding that affect Pasadena and presents a detailed plan to mitigate their impact on human life, property, and infrastructure. The updated plan also assesses the city’s current capabilities and outlines targeted strategies for minimizing damage from future hazards.
City officials stress that community feedback is essential in shaping a plan that is not only effective but also inclusive and practical for Pasadena’s diverse needs. Public participation helps refine mitigation strategies and ensures the city remains eligible for federal funding dedicated to disaster preparedness and recovery.
Residents are encouraged to take an active role by reviewing the draft and completing a brief survey to share their input. The draft LHMP is available at this link, and the survey can be accessed at at this link.
