Pasadena is welcoming the spooky season with a full slate of festive Fall and Halloween events throughout October, aimed at bringing families and community members together for safe and spirited fun.

In partnership with the Pasadena Public Library and the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department, the city has curated a diverse calendar of activities for all ages, from creepy crafts and thrilling board games to pumpkin decorating and not-so-scary storytimes. Many events require registration through the Library’s online event calendar, so early sign-up is encouraged.
Highlighted Events
Highlights include:
- Art with Jeanette on October 15, where kids ages 7–12 can create Halloween collages at Hastings Branch Library.
- Spooky Fuse Beads on October 16 for ages 5–18 at the Santa Catalina Branch.
- Mini Pumpkin Decorating on October 18 at Hill Avenue Branch, open to ages 3 and up.
- Massive Multiplayer Spooky Board Games on October 22 at Hastings, featuring titles like Zombie Kittens and Horrified for teens 13–18.
- Dress to Make a Mess: Glow In The Dark Experience on October 24, returning by popular demand at Santa Catalina Library, open to all ages.
The fun continues with family-friendly crafting, trivia nights, and seasonal storytimes, such as the Spooktacular Storytime at Villa Parke Branch on October 28 and Hastings Halloween Not-So-Spooky Storytime on October 29.
A standout event, the Fall Festival at Victory Park on October 25 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, will feature carnival games, costume contests, live entertainment, free food, and flu vaccines administered by Pasadena Public Health.
Community safety remains a top priority. The Pasadena Police, Fire, and Public Health Departments are also providing essential Halloween safety tips to ensure all events are enjoyed in a secure and welcoming environment.
Families can close out the month with the much-loved Boo Bash with the Badge – Trunk or Treat at Pasadena City Hall on October 30, hosted by Pasadena Police, followed by a Family Bingo Party at Santa Catalina Library on Halloween Day.
To make getting to the festivities easier, residents are encouraged to ride Pasadena Transit, offering eight routes with fares under $1. Live bus times and maps are available at PasadenaTransit.net.
