Don Benito is nestled in the heart of Hastings Ranch in Pasadena. The Pasadena Fire Department headed over to Don Benito today to help decorate the school so that it could be part of the annual Hastings Ranch light up. The children cheered as a large, beautiful wreath with oversized ornaments was hung from the school. Bobcat pride was alive and well! The Hastings Ranch “light up” began December 7. Don Benito Fundamental Elementary School became part of the festivities on December 10.
Hastings Ranch Pasadena neighborhoods coordinate to go all out for Christmas in a big way. Visitors this year might see a giant clocktower that plays music and maybe even catch a glimpse of Santa. Grab the family and drive through this Pasadena neighborhood to enjoy lights and parkway displays. This tradition began in 1951 when a few Hastings Ranch families decorated their driveways with luminaria (paper bags with candles) to guide Santa Claus to their homes. Eventually, homeowners began creating wooden parkway displays and the competition was on! The displays are free to visit.
> Come by Hastings Ranch Dr. Don Benito carline to get some hot cocoa and treats on the weekends while you enjoy the neighborhood lights. All proceeds will go to the Don Benito graduating class of 2022!
