In honor of Earth Day, Pasadena Transit, Metrolink, and LA Metro are offering free rides today, April 22, encouraging Southern Californians to take climate action and help build a cleaner, greener region.

Pasadena Transit invites riders to skip the car and hop on board any of its buses for free. The city-operated service runs on renewable natural gas—a clean fuel made from organic materials—highlighting Pasadena’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Trip planning tools are available at PasadenaTransit.net.
LA Metro is also providing free access to all its services, including buses, trains, Metro Micro, and Bike Share. Officials stress that every ride on public transit helps reduce traffic and cut air pollution.
Metrolink, Southern California’s regional rail system serving six counties, is waiving fares on all lines, including the Arrow service. No ticket is required for travel today. This marks Metrolink’s fourth year participating in the Earth Day initiative since its launch in 2019.
“An experience aboard Metrolink can inspire people to make more sustainable choices—not just on Earth Day, but every day,” said Metrolink Board Chair Doug Chaffee.
Metrolink connects with six Metro lines at LA Union Station, making it easier than ever to go car-free across the region.
Today’s free rides represent a united step toward cleaner air, lower emissions, and a more sustainable Southern California.
