In observance of Memorial Day, a national day of remembrance honoring U.S. military personnel who have died in service, the City of Pasadena has announced a series of closures and service adjustments for Monday, May 26.

City Hall and most administrative offices will be closed, including the City Service Center, Pasadena Water and Power (PWP), the Municipal Services Payment Center, the Parking Office, and the Permit Center. The City Council will not convene on May 26; its next meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 2.
Emergency services will remain fully operational. The Pasadena Police and Fire Departments will be staffed as usual, continuing to provide patrol, fire, paramedic, and emergency response services. Residents are reminded to call 9-1-1 for life-threatening emergencies and to report suspicious activity by calling (626) 744-4241.
Trash, recycling, and yard waste collection will continue as scheduled. However, bulky item pickups will be unavailable for the day.
PWP customers experiencing service issues can contact the Power Emergency Line at (626) 744-4673 or the Water Emergency Line at (626) 744-4138. Although the Customer Call Center will be closed, bill payments and account services will remain available online at PWPweb.com or by calling (626) 744-4005.
Pasadena Transit and Dial-A-Ride services will be suspended on Memorial Day, with regular service resuming Tuesday, May 27. All Pasadena Public Libraries will be closed on both Sunday, May 25, and Monday, May 26, and will reopen Tuesday at 10:00 am.
Parking meters not marked with “No Parking” restrictions will be free on Memorial Day, and time limits will not be enforced. However, parking violations—such as those involving red curbs, blocked fire hydrants, or overnight parking restrictions—will continue to be enforced.
All recreation and community centers will be closed for the holiday, though city parks will remain open for public use. No site reservations will be accepted for the day.
Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony
The City of Pasadena, in partnership with the Pasadena Veterans Day Committee, will host a Memorial Day Commemoration Ceremony at 10:30 am on Monday, May 26, at Memorial Park, 85 E. Holly St. Chaplain Pedro M. Trinidad, Lieutenant Commander, USNR, will deliver the invocation and benediction.
The ceremony is open to the public and will honor the sacrifices of the nation’s fallen service members.
The event is sponsored by the City of Pasadena’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, The Rose Bowl Stadium, and the Pasadena Management Association.
