The session will highlight key changes and provide a refresher on core provisions of the Ordinance, established under Charter Amendment Article XVIII. Topics include:
- Annual General Adjustment (AGA):
Starting October 1, landlords of rent-stabilized units will be permitted to raise rents by up to 2.25%. - Updated Relocation Assistance Amounts:
Revised payment schedules for eligible and special circumstances households will reflect new cost-of-living adjustments. - Security Deposit Interest Rate:
A new annual interest rate will be implemented, along with updated guidance for landlords on calculating and issuing interest. - Charter Amendment Overview:
A summary of tenant protections, rent caps, and landlord responsibilities under Article XVIII.
“This workshop offers a timely opportunity for renters and housing providers to learn about recent updates, ask questions, and ensure compliance with Pasadena’s rent stabilization laws,” according to a statement from the City’s Rent Stabilization Department. Department staff will be on-site to answer questions and offer resources.
