Criminals have been known to use various scams to steal bill payments and identity information from utility customers.

People posing as Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) employees are trying to enter homes claiming to need to test water.
Legitimate PWP employees carry a City of Pasadena badge, will be wearing a City uniform, and will not ask to enter your home. PWP’s water is safe, clean, and reliable. With the added benefit of having its own Water Quality Laboratory, PWP’s team is state certified and monitors daily (including weekends and holidays), drawing samples from 300 locations to test for more than 170 elements to ensure high standards are maintained.
PWP does not notify customers of their account status by phone. Customers with delinquent accounts will receive a “Final Notice” and “Disconnect Notice” from PWP by U.S. Mail notifying them of their account status. Delinquent payments must be made in person at the City Hall Municipal Services counter, online via customer login, or by phone at 626.744.4005.
