After losing her property in the blaze, Jun Li Lujan moved quickly through both Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the recovery process. She then took the initiative to contact the City of Pasadena’s Planning Department to begin the permitting phase.
Her permit application, submitted around April 29, 2025, was approved just 23 days later, following the necessary reviews and revisions. Jun expressed deep gratitude for the City’s swift response, praising the Planning Department for its professionalism and efficiency. She appreciated how quickly staff arrived on-site, provided clear guidance, and kept the process moving during such a difficult time.
As of June 12, 2025, construction has officially begun on her new home. Jun remains optimistic, hoping to complete the rebuild in time to celebrate the holidays. Her progress marks a significant milestone for the community as recovery efforts continue citywide.
