Danny Feldman, Producing Artistic Director of Pasadena Playhouse, has announced an exciting expansion of the theater’s educational offerings for 2026, marking a new chapter for the Playhouse’s Education Department. The expansion includes 16 new community classes and two summer camps, furthering the Playhouse’s longstanding commitment to arts education for individuals of all ages.

      By News Desk

Feldman, who led Pasadena Playhouse to win the prestigious 2023 Regional Theatre Tony Award, emphasized the importance of education in the Playhouse’s mission.

In addition to the new programming, Feldman will also take on a teaching role this spring, joining the roster of teaching artists to lead a seminar on Brigadoon in conjunction with the Playhouse’s upcoming production of the beloved musical.

New Youth, Teen, and Adult Classes

The expanded 2026 offerings will cater to youth, teen, and adult learners. Youth classes include a variety of fun and engaging options such as Playwriting (Ages 9-13), Little Players (Ages 5-7), Physical Comedy (Ages 8-11), and Puppetry (Ages 8-11). For the young performers, the Playhouse Players program will offer Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS (Ages 7-12) and Story Theater (Ages 5-7).

Teens (Ages 14-18) can take part in intensive training with Teen Acting Intensive or explore the whimsical world of Once Upon A Mattress: Youth Edition (Ages 11-16).

Adults can also dive into a wide range of creative pursuits, from Acting for Non-Actors and Drama Book Club to specialized courses like Acting the Song and Comedy for the Stage. For those interested in music, Playhouse Singers offers a Musical Theater Community Choir with both beginner and advanced options. A special seminar on Brigadoon 101: Through the Mist will explore the iconic musical ahead of the Playhouse’s production.

      Summer Camps and Scholarships

The Playhouse’s summer camp offerings will captivate young theater lovers. The first camp, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR., will immerse children ages 7-12 in the magic of Dahl’s classic story, running from June 15 to August 7 across four two-week sessions. Older teens (ages 14-18) can sign up for Musical Theater Bootcamp, returning this summer from July 20 to July 31 for an intensive theater experience.

Partial scholarships are available for all classes and camps on a rolling basis. Interested participants can apply for scholarships through the Playhouse website.

      Enrollment Opens Today

Enrollment for all 2026 classes and camps officially opens today, November 11, 2025. Full details, including class schedules, tuition, and scholarship application information, are available at pasadenaplayhouse.org.
