The City of Pasadena has issued a do-not-drink notification for people in the impacted areas.
By News Desk
The Eaton Fire caused damage to several City of Pasadena water reservoirs/tanks and pump stations, potentially impacting water quality.
The State Water Resources Control Board, Pasadena Public Health Department, and Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) advise the Pasadena and Altadena communities in the grey (impacted) areas on the map (Click to see large map) to not use tap water for drinking and cooking effective January 9, 2025, until further notice. Do not use tap water. Bottled water should be used for all drinking (including baby formula and juice), brushing teeth, washing dishes, making ice and food preparation until further notice. This also applies to pets and domestic animals. Additionally, do not try to treat the water yourself. Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting water stand will not make the water safe to drink.
This do-not drink order applies only to the grey (impacted) area of the map (click to see map). The water in all other areas within Pasadena’s service area is safe for drinking and normal use.
