Landlords in Pasadena are reminded that the deadline for the 2025 rental registration is rapidly approaching. All residential rental units in the city must be registered by Friday, October 31, 2025, with a $238 fee per unit.

      By News Desk

To avoid penalties, property owners are strongly encouraged to complete the registration process as soon as possible via the Rental Registry Portal. This online portal allows landlords to verify unit details, update information, and securely submit payment.

      In-Person Assistance Available

For those who need extra help or prefer in-person assistance, the final walk-in registration session will take place on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Los Robles Building (199 S. Los Robles Ave.), in the first-floor conference room. Rent Stabilization Department (RSD) staff will be on hand to answer questions and guide landlords through the registration process.

It’s important to note that the RSD office will be closed on Friday, October 31, due to a scheduled City closure. However, payments will still be accepted through the Rental Registry Portal and at the Municipal Services Center.

      Ways to Submit Your Payment

      • Online:
Submit payment via credit card through the Rental Registry Portal.
      • In Person:
Payments can be made by check, cash, credit card, or debit card at the Municipal Services Center (100 N. Garfield Ave., Room N106), Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.
      • By Mail:
Pay by check, including the invoice number, parcel number, and billing period on the payment slip.

      Late Fees for Late Registration

Landlords who miss the October 31st deadline may still submit their registration during a seven-day grace period through Friday, November 7, 2025, without incurring penalties. After that, late fees will apply according to the following schedule:

      • 8–45 days late (Nov. 8–Dec. 22, 2025): 15% fee or $35.70/unit
      • 46–90 days late (Dec. 23, 2025–Feb. 5, 2026): 30% fee or $71.40/unit
      • 91+ days late (Feb. 6, 2026, and after): 50% fee or $119.00/unit
