The City of Pasadena’s Rent Stabilization Department (RSD) is reminding landlords that the deadline to complete the 2025 Rental Registration and pay the associated fees has passed.
By News Desk
Landlords who missed the Friday, October 31, 2025, deadline have accrued late fees and may soon face even higher penalties.
Following a one-week grace period that ended on November 7, 2025, late fees are now in effect. For landlords who have not yet registered, fees are calculated as follows:
- 8–45 Days Late (November 8–December 22, 2025):
15% late fee, or an additional $35.70 per unit, on top of the $238.00 per-unit registration fee. - 46–90 Days Late (December 23, 2025–February 5, 2026):
Late fee increases to 30%, adding $71.40 per unit. - 91+ Days Late (February 6, 2026, and beyond):
Late fee escalates to 50%, or $119.00 per unit.
Landlords are urged to complete their registration and payment as soon as possible to avoid further penalties and ensure compliance with Pasadena’s annual rental registration requirements.
The late fee will increase significantly starting Tuesday, December 23, 2025, so landlords who have not yet paid should act quickly to minimize their costs. To make payments, landlords can:
- Online: Pay by credit card through the Rental Registry Portal.
- In Person: Pay at the City of Pasadena Municipal Services, 100 N. Garfield Ave., Room N106, Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:15 pm. (Payments are not accepted at the Rent Stabilization Department office. Be sure to bring a copy of your invoice.)
For more information, to get assistance with registration, or for questions about the invoice, landlords can visit the Rental Registry website, contact the Rent Stabilization Department at (626) 744-7999, or email RentalRegistry@CityofPasadena.net.
Landlords are encouraged to register and pay promptly to avoid escalating fees and stay in compliance with local regulations.
