Pasadena Water and Power (PWP) has issued a fraud alert warning residents about individuals posing as private water company representatives who are going door to door claiming they have permits to test water inside homes.
By News Desk
According to PWP, no such permit exists, and these individuals are not affiliated with the City of Pasadena or Pasadena Water and Power.
Residents are urged to use caution if anyone asks for access to their home under the guise of water testing. PWP emphasized that its employees rarely need to enter private residences and will only do so through a prearranged appointment.
Legitimate City of Pasadena employees can be identified by uniforms displaying the City seal, an official City identification badge, and the use of clearly marked City vehicles.
PWP has made a video with additional information about the fraud alert available online. Residents seeking updated alerts or wishing to report suspected fraud are encouraged to visit PWPweb.com/Fraud.
