The City of Pasadena is inviting residents to participate in the final outreach and engagement event for the Sierra Madre Median Enhancement Project, a key initiative aimed at transforming sections of Sierra Madre Boulevard’s medians into greener, more sustainable public spaces.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 23, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Victory Park Recreation Center Gymnasium, located at 2575 Paloma Street.
A central feature of the evening will be a presentation at 6:30 pm, where City staff will unveil the project’s final design and outline the next steps for implementation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore a showcase of the selected plant palette, landscape features, and stormwater enhancements that are designed to both beautify the medians and support improved water quality and habitat creation.
Developed by the Department of Public Works, the Sierra Madre Median Enhancement Project is the result of a collaborative process involving community workshops and public feedback. The design focuses on specific sections of the boulevard, integrating low-impact landscaping, urban greening strategies, and stormwater improvements to create a more inviting and ecologically beneficial corridor.
City representatives and project partners will be available during the event to answer questions and share how the project supports Pasadena’s broader sustainability goals and commitment to community-centered design.
