In celebration of Adopt-A-Senior Pet Month this November, Pasadena Humane will have a special promotion: all adoption fees will be waived for pets aged five and older throughout the entire month.
By News Desk
This initiative aims to highlight the many benefits of adopting older pets and to help find loving homes for senior animals in our community.
Senior pets often make excellent companions, bringing calm, loyalty, and affection to their new families. By removing their adoption fees, the shelter hopes to make it easier than ever for families to welcome these wonderful pets into their lives.
“Senior pets have so much love to give,” says Dia DuVernet, President & CEO of Pasadena Humane. “This promotion not only helps place these deserving animals in homes, but also reminds us all of the joys that older pets can bring.”
All dogs and cats adopted from Pasadena Humane are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have received age-appropriate vaccines. New adopters will receive a complimentary wellness exam with a partner veterinarian and a packet filled with information about how to care for their pet.
Those interested in meeting adoptable senior pets are encouraged to visit pasadenahumane.org. Walk-in adoptions are available every day from 2:00 – 5:00 pm. For those who prefer, adoption appointments are available daily from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm, and can be scheduled online.
About Pasadena Humane
Pasadena Humane is more than an animal shelter; they are a community-supported animal resource center providing compassion and care for all animals. Since 1903, Pasadena Humane has offered lifesaving programs and services for animals and the people who love them in the Greater Los Angeles Area. At their Pasadena campus, they provide shelter, dedicated care, and new beginnings for thousands of the community’s most vulnerable animals every year.
In addition to pet adoptions and foster, they focus on programs and services aimed at helping people care for and keep their pets, such as free and low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines, a pet food pantry, training programs for pets, and an animal support call center. In 2023, Pasadena Humane helped nearly 45,000 animals through adoptions, wildlife rehabilitation, lost & found, veterinary services, training classes, and surrender prevention assistance.
