The Lower Arroyo Archery Range was established in 1936 by the Pasadena Roving Archers and is one of oldest surviving operational archery ranges in the United States.

The Roving Archers is among the oldest field archery clubs in California, and it has produced Olympic archers. Members of the club have made significant contributions to the sport and have maintained the range.
On November 20, 2020, the Pasadena Field Archery Range (Lower Arroyo Archery Range) was designated as an historic landscape on the National Register of Historic Places.
A celebration of this milestone, hosted by the Pasadena Roving Archers, was delayed a year due to the pandemic. The celebration took place on November 20, 2021, and included a discussion on the history of the land and the club, and the contributions that the range has made to the archery world. Attendees had the opportunity to witness archery demonstrations, receive educational instruction and view a display of awards that archers have earned from around the world. A Certificate of Recognition was delivered from the offices of Pasadena Mayor Gordo, delivered by his field representative Vannia DE LA Cuba, the office of Councilmember Steve Madison, delivered by his representative Takako Suzuki, and California Assemblymember Chris Holden delivered and spoke in person.
The Pasadena Roving Archers is a 501 Non-profit organization that has been dedicated to the art of the bow and arrow in Pasadena’s Lower Arroyo Seco Park since 1935. It was designated as the oldest continuously operating Field Archery Range in the United States, in the United States Department of the Interior, National Register of Historic Places.
