The Pasadena City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 6:00 pm to address the current status of job vacancies across the city’s departments, as well as strategies for recruitment and employee retention.

The hearing, taking place in the Council Chambers at Pasadena City Hall (100 North Garfield Avenue, Room 5249), will be conducted in accordance with Assembly Bill 2561 (McKinnor, 2024). The law requires cities to report on staffing challenges and workforce development efforts.
As part of the regularly scheduled City Council meeting, the hearing will also provide a platform for recognized employee organizations representing bargaining units to present information and share concerns.
City officials are encouraging members of the public to attend and offer their input on the city’s workforce issues and proposed solutions.
