What do Jazz and Pasadena have in common? Everything! From depth, to relevance, beauty and timelessness!

This summer (and every summer), the Playhouse District in Pasadena will “sizzle” – pun intended – with its 14th Annual Free Jazz Summer Concert Series.
The concerts will take place every Sunday evening, July 9 through August 27, 2017, in Vroman’s outdoor courtyard. The eight-week series features an eclectic roster of up-and-coming and notable jazz performers.
The series will kick off with the Elliott Caine Quintet (EC-trumpet, Scott Gilman-tenor sax, Peter Smith-piano, Bill Markus-bass, Kenny Elliott-drums).
2017 Summer Concert Schedule*
- July 9 Elliott Caine Quintet
- July 16 DMQ (Donovan/Muradian Quintet)
- July 23 Michael Haggins Band
- July 30 Danny Green Trio
- August 6 Tony Inzalaco
- August 13 Little Brazil
- August 20 Kira and the Major 3

The 14th Annual Free Summer Jazz Concert Series is the brainchild of the Playhouse DIstrict Association (PDA); and it’s free and open to the public. This is one of the few times when we don’t mind sizzling. Plunge in, and soak in live jazz!
